Warrensburg-Latham provides bus transportation to and from school for all WL students living 1.5 miles or more from the school. Effective transportation service requires cooperation by students, parents, bus drivers, school staff and administration. At the beginning of the school year parents must select one bus stop at which a student is to be picked up and one stop at which a student is to be dropped off. Students are not permitted to ride a bus other than the bus to which they are assigned. Exceptions must be approved in advance by the building principal and/or transportation director.
School buses are one of the safest vehicles on the road. We encourage parents to talk with their children about safe behavior while riding a school bus so that the driver can focus on driving students in the safest manner possible. We want students to know the best way to get from their bus stop to the bus, when it is okay to cross a road, and how to be respectful of other drivers on the road.
The United States Department of Transportation provides useful information about school bus safety.
