Yearbook Wins Award
Warrensburg-Latham High School Named Jostens 2019 National Yearbook Program of Excellence
Warrensburg-Latham High School’s yearbook program was recognized this week as a 2019 National Yearbook Program of Excellence by Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student created content. Warrensburg-Latham’s Cardinal Yearbook was one of 22 yearbook programs in Illinois to receive the honor.
The Warrensburg-Latham High School award winning yearbook program staff is currently led by co-editors Jaycie Edwards and Jayden Stuart, under the direction of Mrs. Stephanie Thien, Warrensburg-Latham yearbook adviser.
“Working with the creative students on my staff to create a book we are so proud of is one of the best parts of my job as a yearbook adviser. My students really take ownership of our publication, and strive each year to create a book that really embraces the community of Warrensburg-Latham while always trying to out-do ourselves from the previous year. I am so honored to have received this award and to be recognized for our hard work,” stated Thien.
The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and information and communication technologies (ICT) literacy.
The Award was presented to the Warrensburg-Latham High School yearbook program for achieving the defined criteria in each of three following categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
“Jostens is proud to recognize those individuals who have acted as wonderful stewards by creating an exceptional yearbook for their school and community,” said Tammy Whitaker, Jostens VP and COO Yearbook Division. “Yearbooks are a critical part of telling a school’s story, and Jostens is dedicated to supporting yearbook staff members with state-of-the-art tools and resources that help celebrate moments that matter.”
The Warrensburg-Latham High School yearbook program will receive a recognition plaque and a banner to display in school, so the entire school community will be aware of the outstanding achievement.
